About SAM
SAM was formed in 1987 by the Berks County MH/MR Program office to provide intake, emergency services and case management.
Initially SAM was part of County Government.
We started with 15 employees
We developed our departmental structures and created specialized work units.
Over the next 10 years we grew to 110 employees.
In 1997 we became a private Not-For-Profit Human Services Organization.
On July 1, 2004 SAM, Inc was awarded a contract to manage the day-to-day operations for the Schuylkill County MH/MR program.
In 2008 SAM was selected to operate all Case Management Service in Huntingdon, Mifflin and Juniata Counties.
On August 18, 2008, SAM began a contract with Clearfield/Jefferson MH/MR to operate their Fiscal Department.
Begining July 1st SAM was awarded a contract by Clearfield/Jefferson County MH/ MR to manage parts of the MH/ MR program
On July 1st SAM was awarded a contract to manage the MH/MR and Drug and Alcohol program for Clarion County.
