SAM's Mental Health Crisis Intervention and Emergency Services
Help is available 24 hours per day, seven days per week all year round. Holidays included.

Where can I get help?
- Walk-in crisis available at 19 N. 6th Street Reading, PA 19601
- We can work with you at a local hospital Emergency Care Unit.
- In Berks County in the community where you are located
What kind of Crisis Intervention Services are available?
- We can help resolve and/or defuse crisis situations through problem-solving, support and referral.
- We can help with assessment and consultation in identifying mental health problems
- We can help you explore options for mental health treatment or other interventions and community services.
- We can provide information and referral for other human services and community resources.
What kind of Emergency Mental Health Service is available?
- We provide help only after less restrictive and less intrusive Crisis Intervention Services have been provided.
- We can help with the review and execution of requests for involuntary mental health evaluation and treatment.
Am I eligible for help?
- All you have to do is ask. We will help regardless of age, income or insurance.
- We can help individuals in crisis as well as others that are interested in their well-being, including but not limited to, family friends, human service agencies, law enforcement and court officers.
